Today I found out that one of my closest friends in the world has been diagnosed with HIV. Frankly, I have no idea of what the hell I'm supposed to do. I mean, I'm going to be there for him through thick and thin but I feel like I should be doing more. I just don't know what. If any of you know of anyplace where I could learn more about this virus and get some more information on treatments and stuff I would appreciate it so much. Becuase so far my search hasn't turned up too much. I don't want to have to read through all the crap about how a person gets this. I know that. I just want answers.

Truthfully, I am so scared. This is something completely new that I've never had to face before. I've only seen it from a distance, and now it's staring me in the face.

Please help.

Okay first of all, I have done alot of reasearch on becuase my friend has HIV as well. I will tell you the myths

You will not get hiv from touching their ass. You will not get HIV from kissing them unless they dont have sores or cuts in their mouth. You will not get hiv from working in the same area as that person, You will not get HIV from touching the same paper or desk or anything.

HIV is an immune killing disease that kills off the the immunes in the body thats needed to heal from any sickness such as colds, and others. When all of their immunes are gone it becomes a fatal AIDS and they have a short while before they get really sicker and may apparently die.

There is no cure as of yet, so dont get your hopes up. There are medications and expirmental cocktails readily as doctors prescribe it. But dont loose hope for a cure, one day there will be one.

For more info you can do an online search

Staying on top of meds

If taken proper care, HIV, people do outlive their normal life expentacy and live up to be quite old and healthy.
