Well kids, once again, The Hat demonstrates Its power over my life. Yesterday's two incidents just go to show what I go through when I wear The Hat:
First, I was VERY apprehensive because I had to take public transportation. Now don't get me wrong, I don't look down upon it at all, but the people here in Portland that ride it are just plain wacko sometimes. So on my way to yesterday's gig with the chorus, I decided to wear The Hat for security.
After only a couple of minutes, this married couple (the wife was in a wheelchair) stand next to me (I'm in the train at this point). All of the sudden, the lady comments on what a very nice Hat I have--and before you know it, we're talking about the store that I bought the hat (it's kinda famous here in Portland), and we went on to have a delightful conversation after that.
The next incident takes place later on that night, when a group of ruffians and I were passing each other on the street. Since I had The Hat, I knew everything would be OK, so I just kept walking and didn't pay any attention to them. As we're passing, the roughest of the bunch says, "Dude, that's a really cool Hat!"
"Thanks," I say graciously, and went on walking.

Well kids, that's about all I have time for right now. There's a cute boy from out of town in my shower, so I'll have to find some time later on tonight or this week to tell you what went on. :) You all behave yourselves, and we'll talk soon!
