Lord of the Rings

Jillie's picture

I saw it this weekend and loved it. Eowyn dealing with the Nazgul
was awesome (and probably one of the coolest parts of the battle, along with Legolas
and the elephant-type thingie). (That said, Eowyn is awesome. Her cleft chin bothers
me but I'd be willing to overlook that)
The Battle of Minas Tirith beats Helm's Deep any day of the week for me. It was
missing a few scenes, namely Saruman's death and Frodo and Sam making sweet love before
heading up the mountain (that has to be in there somewhere). That said, Aragorn
was scary. When he lunged at Arwen, mouth agape at the end, I feared for the elven
princess. Worst. Kiss Scene. Ever. Anyway, this geek enjoyed the movie a lot.

i concur!

i agree with all of your statements. except i have one to add: smeagol rocks my worlds. yes, i'm weird like that. he's even on my desktop. especially in the two towers...OH MY GOODNESS. he rocked in that one.
but anyway, this geek enjoyed the movie a lot as well. hurrah for geeks!

peace,
manda

yes! i'm totally convinced that frodo and sam are getting it on somewhere in the movie and we just missed it somehow...

:-P

oh my! i almost forgot to comment about that one! i agree as well - there's definitely some romance going on there that they're just not showing for some ridiculous reason. i mean, why else would sam be sobbing as if it were the end of the world when frodo tells him to go home? because his heart is broken, of course! it's so sweet, i really don't understand why they didn't develop it more in the plot...if they had, that last scene with them on the rock at mount doom after the ring has been destroyed would have been particularly wonderful...*grins*

manda

super hints~

my friend rachel: "you know when frodo kisses same on the head at the end of the movie, he's saying 'you'll always be my man bitch!'"

at least, that's her story. *laughs*

i myself, have had many reasons pointed out as to why it's reasonable to believe thataragorn and legolas are secretly getting it on. i wouldn't mind if it were true. ;-)

Would that be...

... the tough yet tender shoulder grab at the end, before Aragorn lunges at Arwen (ugh).
p.s. I love how all the lesbians are discussing the hooking up of the LOTR males.

Aragorn and legolas (vig and orlando)

Actualy there is a photo of Viggo and Orlando kissing at one of the primiers for rotk on Viggomortensen.us (they were just joking around but, it was cute anyhow!)

Thanks, reticent, for reminding me about that link. I had forgotten about it.

The first link is the article where Orlando insists he's not gay.
The second link is to the pic. Just the pic of Viggo being smooched by Orlando.

*giggles* yes, it is interest

*giggles* yes, it is interesting! what do we find so enticing about the opposite gender doing eachother? hmm...i want to go around asking now!

house of healing

hmm.. i didn't mind the kiss. lol. viggo is so lucky gitting to kiss liv tyler (who is marryed and stright.. sob)

The thing that bothered me the most was they didn't put the house of healing in, where Aragorn does a bunch of healing, thats always been a favoret part of mine. (im a long time fan of the books, was even named from them! *smiles*)

I was also bothered by how they had Legolas doing all that praticaly flying fighting around the olefante (it looked a little like a jakie chan movie at that point)

even though they made a lot of changes, i think they did a wonderful job! Peter and the others have my blessings! ( i can't wait for the extined virsion to come out, they will most likely have a lot of senses they got cut put back in. like the house of healing)

(sorry i can't spell)

. Peace and Love- Arwen

yep, i spent the second half of the movie waiting for sam and froddo to get it on ;) above the lava, that woulda been great there near the end... so hot haha. i thought the elephant thing was cool with legolas....

aragon looks like an agressive kisser, which could go either way between very good and very bad :) my best friend is in love with him because "he's so manly" haha.

adrian's picture

you are all forgetting the mo

you are all forgetting the most obvious pair!! What about Merry and Pippin!! they spend the whole movie together, practically cry when they get separated during the big battle, and the biggest point: the very end!! Frodo has left with the Elves, Sam is married with 2 children, and Merry and Pippin still only have each other. if theres a gay couple there, its definitly Merry and pippin!!

gwyneth's picture

*laughs*

The actors were really close too! they never said how close...heehee (in the books merry and pippin both marry women and have children)

Aragorn

*rowr*.

*mutter*facial hair fetish*mutter*horn of gondor*mutter*

I was dripping like a perculator for that man during that film. =)

In agreement about the kiss..

In agreement about the kiss... (eww straight people, heeeelllppp!!!j/k) and has anyone else seen the HBO thing where Viggo has a picture of orlando on his mirror... mmmmhmmm, you know they keep each other company alot. And serious, that movie is full of gayness, Aragorn and Legolas and Frodo and Sam (though Sam gets jealous of Gollum.. ewww...) Just my thoughts on the matter, you all won't smack me for thinking it *is* there... my friends refuse to admit it...

One of my favorites

One of my favorite scenes in the movie (and there are many) is when the head of the Nine Riders says, "No man shall defeat me." And the woman takes off her helm and declares, "I am no man!"

OOH! That scene oozes with girl power. *Leans back in chair and kicks legs wildly* I LOVE IT!! Move over, Rosie the Riveter.

The kiss scene was horrible, but perhaps that's because Aragorn isn't used to kissing females.

And I couldn't agree more about the homoeroticism between Frodo and Samwise. If they didn't screw each other onscreen, then they certainly did in their trailers.

there

there is this wicked store in the area called Kitsch 'n Kool , that sells a lot of rosie memorabilia.

also , some wicked feather boa's (atleast 1 of my two boa's are from there)
