The Bible

i don't get the bible on a couple accounts. if anyone has answers/soluutions to my
questions, feel free to write me.

1)The Virgin Mary. if she had a kid, she had to have sex, at which point she
is no longer a virgin. and don't give me the schpele on 'it wasn't her kid'.
the fact is, she had sex, and is therefore no longer a virgin.

2)Sex is a sin, but you are supposed to have kids, namely sons. okay, so you're
allowed to have kids, but you can't take pleasure in it?

do any of you have answers for me? i am really in the dark, and i want to
understand this. i like to know what has been shown to me as my enimy in way
to many cases, though a very good friend is very religious. i need help...

I think the Catholic position

I think the Catholic position on one is that the Virgin Mary did not have sex to conceive Jesus -- the Holy Spirit, er, impregnated her. Or something similar. It was a miracle, and miracles don't have to obey physics or biology.

Number two is one of the points on which Christianity and Judaism diverge. There are some verses in the New Testament praising abstinance. Judaism believes that sex is a gift from God (but only between man and wife).
