Your experiences being or being with a Conservative Gay Christian?

Hello, all, I'm new here and this is a wonderful little-big community. Anyway, I am in the process of writing a partially autobiographical
(sorry for the weird indention, my computer is being weird) play entitled To Have Imagined. One part of the story is the confusion of being
a gay teenager in this crazy world. Much of this is based on my own experience, however, one of the characters is a Conservative
Christian grappling with his sexuality and his faith, and this i cannot write from experience- i am a semi-Atheistic Jew from a liberal
accepting family. As such, i was wondering if any of you have had to grapple with what you were born as versus what your church has taught
OR had dated or known such a person and had observed their conflict. Of course, if you do not feel comfortable saying anything, you by
no means have to say anything. I just would like to know how such a situation truly is, so that my story may be true, and not dramatized
fiction. This is a real issue i'm dealing with! I would like my play to be as realitic as possible. Thank you for any help you can give me!
And thank you to all who are able to speak at all of these forums- it is a bravery that i do not often see in my conservative Texas suburbs

and i sincerely apologize for the bizarre indentions- my computer is being funky.

I have no idea if this will h

I have no idea if this will help yopu but I live right next door to this VERY christian family's house and my mom and me are lesbians so I live with my mom her g/f and me and my new born baby brother. We get along with our neighbor but there is some conflct. Nothing horribly bad but extremely difference in opinion like when me and my nabor Drew sit down and start talking about his religion he doesn't come out andsay me being a lesbian is bad...but it's implied oh and he told me to read this book and it was about a gay guy who hated his feelings for other men so badly he like shocked his balls with like electricity evertime he got hard off of another mans body becasue it was wrong to like a man...so his religion says...I think Drew was trying to tell me something but....yeah overall they tell us they love us and everything but there is a large dirrerence of opinion..+

Yes I had a great deal of int

Yes I had a great deal of internal conflict between my sexuality and my religion. However, I always held firm in the belief that God was loving and I could never believe he would condemn love. It took me a long time to realise that following God and following the church are too different things. What the church teaches is based on tradition, it's closed-minded to such and extent it ignores the trueth. I am still a Christian but I do not follow the church. I consider myself a 'Liberated Christian.' These ideas are elaborated upon in my Biography which I suggest you read. God doesn't condemn love, he teaches us to embrace it.

If it's a sin to love you
Then in hell i'd rather be
Opposed to living a life with people
In heaven looking down on me
