I was researching this 'Day of Silence' you people seem to be talking about (Here in the UK, we dont have that) and I came across this website: http://www.stopseed.com *. As I started to read it, I felt it was what I needed to know, but after further reading I realised what was going on. This was an anti-gay group.
Now, I understand homophobia, I dont accept or aprove of it, but I understand - people, dont want to think about or accept our 'way of life'. I also get religion that doesnt accept us, they feel that someone very important has personally felt that our way of life is unacceptable, and feel the need to agree. But I dont get this. Grouping up explicitly (or as a main point of an agenda) to activly attack us. This really is a sadening thought for me.
This page also cites this page: http://www.alliancedefensefund.org *. They have set up a day, following the 13th April, to counteract the work of students who are rightfully protesting and harming no-one in the process. In fact they seem to crimanalise the behaviour and portray a very differnt image of the event (the 'Day of Silence') than the official site: http://www.dayofsilence.org/.
I didnt realise that people like this existed, that disliked us so much that they would actively seek out, and seek to crimalise our feelings and behaviour.
