Re: labels

Labels really are somewhat stupid.. think about it.. by putting yourself into a label your already seperating yourself from the norm.. and we ARE normal despite what anyone wants to tell us.. We're still human, we still love, we still want to be loved.. so whats the point of even being in a label if it only helps seperate us even more?

Personally, I think that labe

Personally, I think that labels can help us come to terms with ourselves and express our differences to others in a simple way. Our differences are absolutely something to be proud of, something healthy, beautiful, and, as you say, "normal"... But they are still differences.

When people misuse labels or become too fixated on them, or allow them to limit their ability to love and make relationships, they become damaging and negative. However, when a label is something you are proud of, something that allows you to communicate an important part of your identity, it is just that: a tool with which to connect, no more damaging or "stupid" than saying you're a Buddhist or from New York.

Im not really a fan of labels

Im not really a fan of labels either, but way too many people in our society need them. (I think Ive written a rather long rant on this subject here before) So I go with queer. It clarifies that Im not straight, but doesnt restrict beyond that. I am female, currently dating a guy who identifies as bisexual, and have also dated straight guys, lesbians, and came close to dating a FtM trans guy. And I plan on being just as open and varied with the genders and sexual identities of anyone I date in the future.

I really don't know who I am anymore. I mean, I definatly know i like guys, but i don't know if i like girls at all anymore. I'm really confused. I thought when I realized I was bi that that was that but now I don't know what to think any more.
