--- Thought I'd post a poem, just for fun. This is very different from most of my stuff. Hope you guys like it. ---
The Sky is Sinking
The problem began
as a simple one: the sun
was shining too brightly, the children’s teeth
were too white.
We bought thicker curtains
and sweeter candycanes.
And then the sky began to quiver, then to shake.
In the stories it always seemed
as though it would come down
Instead it thinned, and sagged,
shook like a muscle.
Heaven is heavy.
The sky gets paler and paler.
They’ve stopped letting people up the Eiffel tower,
but our satellite reception
has never been
Every day it gets a little hotter,
we breathe a little less.
What happens next
The flowers let go
of their petals, the king falls
to his knees.
