grrrr. i live in texas, as some of y'all know, and we recently had an election. one of the
propositions on the ballot was prop 2: a state amendment making marriage only valid if
between a man and a woman. no other civil unions would be recognized. everyone i talked to
said they voted against prop 2 (a.k.a. they were for gay rights), and i was really excited.
but guess who won? the fucking homophobes. by how much? 76% v 24%. *screams* i'm
surrounded by biggots!!!!! i want to get out of this state asap.

It surprises me that you were surprised about the outcome. Hon, you're in Bush-land! Of course it's populated with homophobes. My advice: go to college up North East, like where I live. Or go to California.

what can i say

i'm an optomist. or an idealist. one of the two. whatever. in any event, i shouldn't have been surprised but i was. i can't go to college in the north east, and nor really do i want to. it's cold there, and the colleges are expensive. besides, i'm already madly in love with this school called hendrix. it's near little rock, but despite it's unfortunate location in the state of arkansas, it's actually quite lovely. the studens there are so intellegent, funny and apparently really accepting.

I think we should all go to Candada>.< I live in So Cal too, and a few years ago they passed a bill like that, and a few weeks ago the governor vetoed a bill for same-sex marriage...grr.

I think there should be no marriage-let's see the heterosexuals suffer!

Just kidding...maybe;).

Texas, huh? Well sweetie, the only advice I can give you is move out of there fast!

I Saw This...

I'm surprised. When I saw it on "CBS on LOGO", the pro-gay people outnumbered the homophobes. What happened?

That's nationally I think. So nationally, we have the support, but in many states, like texas, the support is abysmal.
