so being gay is great.... not!!!

lookin to the future...'s picture

so i've been crushin on my best friend for awhile now... today we went to coffee and she told me all about her date last night with an old boyfriend from a couple of years ago... basically the date ended with a big make out session (i got a full description.... lovely...) anyways, the guy is great.... great personality, intelligent, very artistic, headed to the marines, great body (and this is coming from a gay girl so yes, he really is that good looking)....

anyways, after suffering through this whole thing i just laid it out there for her... i told her my feelings and everything... go me!

and her response was "i feel the same way" WTF?!?!?!?!?!?! so i was like, "lets get this straight " you like me but you're dating this guy?" and her response was "yup... i just feel like i would be risking too much by being with you" which is code talk for "you're pretty cool but i don't want to have to disappoint my parents"

great.... and then she totally fucks with my mind... we are both in love with that cupid's chokehold song and not five minutes after i drop her off i get a text (lyrics from the song) that says " i know i'm young but if i had to choose her or the sun i would be one nocturnal son of a gun"...

wow... if that's not mixed messages i don't know what is...

It's a hard thing

It's a hard thing disappointing one's parents, but hopefully she'll realize that the consequences of NOT being true to who you are are far worse. Maybe you can help her to realize that. Be patient with her.

Totally know this feeling...

Hopefully things turn out better for you. We are still great friends though. Sometimes things get confusing. Follow your heart and good job w/ the courageous effort!

That is a sticky situation. I guess it hurts more to have someone like you back, but to choose not to be with you rather than having someone not like you back. Seriously, that's just toying with your emotions.

Hold strong, though--life has a funny way of surprising you.
