There was a Korean princess who was in love with a mighty Korean warrior. She believed that he did not love her because she had never been loved before and didn't know what to feel.
Her grandfather told her that he was sure that the warrior loved her but if she needed proof it would be seen in his throat.
She did not know what her grandfather meant but each time she was around the warrior, she would gaze at his throat looking for some sign.
Finally her grandfather, seeing that she was confused decided to tell her more.
"I have heard him weeping in the forest at night for you and when he does, the pain in his throat makes it glow a deep blue like the glow of the moon."
She could not believe that this strong warrior would be so in love as to weep for her when he was alone. She watched the forest for many nights and just as she was about to give up she saw a deep blue glow coming from the forest near a tree and she could hear the sound of a man weeping.
She rushed to the forest to find her lover on his knees in prayer and his throat glowing a deep blue.
She ran her tiny fingers from his chin to the deep of his neck and found as she did, the glow disappeared with each movement of her finger.
He was truly in love with her for only she could make the glow disappear.
And that is why when you are sad and hurt, your throat hurts but it is also a place where the truth can be seen in everyone. It is the one vulnerable place on the human body that cannot lie.
