Just for the sake of clarity...

I'm seeing two kinds of posts in the “support forum” section: questions on computers or electronics or whatever (i.e., technical support, and questions on personal dilemmas or requests for advice (i.e., emotional or moral support).

Was one or the other type of question intended to be posted here? I originally assumed tech support, and I'm sure it sounds silly to be asking, but I'm a little confused!

(Oh yes — this being my first forum thread that I started — hi all) :-)

Err...

It's anything, really.

Usually people who want people's opinions on a specific topic (but not some urgent pressing matter in their lives) post a forum, whereas people who want personal advice typically post their own journal. But, there's really no rules.

The only thing we don't want here are people looking for sex, trading naked pics, or posts that are just links pointing to other sites.

OK...

Just wondered since there's like five forum categories... it's really no big deal :-)

Typically...

People had suggested "Hey, wouldn't it be great if we had a forum for (insert)." So, we add it, it gets used for a brief period of time, and is then abandoned.

For all intents and purposes, the Discussion Forum is all you really need. The Support Forum was *supposed* to be if people had problems with the site, so we could fix things, but people usually want emotional support not technical, heh.
