The popularity of this show eludes me. I saw it debut in San Francisco as it worked out the kinks before going to Broadway, and it was just, eh? I listen to the cast recording and again, doesn't excite me, but yet it is "Popular." Can't figure it out... it's coming to Sf again in early 2009, and I'm tempted to go again, just to see what I'm missing, but I think I just don't connect to the show...

I did see Idina Menzel sing Defying Gravity at her concert this past week, too.

Jeff, I think it may have

Jeff, I think it may have something to do with my life long obsession with "The Wizard of Oz" AND The Wicked Witch of the West. When i read Maguire's book "Wicked" i was like, this is awesome! Then i heard about the show, and was blown away. Heard the music, and it spoke to me lol so my loving Wicked has been a lifetime in the making!!!

(When watching The Wizard of Oz as a child, i always secretly wanted the witch to get her shoes back. They were HOT shoes.)
