If there are any people in your life that you think merit recognition...
The Advocate and Advocate.com are thrilled to present an exciting new program in 2009 honoring everyday individuals who advocate on the LGBT community’s behalf, allowing it to grow in spirit and in numbers. On Friday, January 16, 2009, Advocate.com launched a dedicated “Everyday Advocates” page. Advocate.com readers are invited to submit photos and written testimonials about the heroism they witness from the extraordinary, everyday people in their lives.
Profiles submitted can be viewed on Advocate.com throughout the year. Each month The Advocate and Advocate.com editors select one submission to be highlighted in the title’s print edition. The chosen submissions become the finalists for “The Everyday Advocate of the Year Award.” The finalists will be honored in the fall at an exclusive ceremony in New York or Los Angeles, where one Advocate will be named “The Everyday Advocate of the Year.”
Submissions for the 2009 “Everyday Advocates” program may be made at www.advocate.com/everydayadvocates.
