So......My mother bought me makeup

ShowMeLove's picture

Yeah.......So, this is weird. I'm 21 years old and I've never wore makeup. Well, when I was a little kid sometimes I played with my sister's lipstick and nail polish but that's about it. So, why did my mother decide to buy me makeup today? I haven't a clue. We were walking to the library and she says:

Mom:"Do you want to start wearing makeup?"
Me: "Why?"
Mom: "Well, I don't know. I bought some because I had a coupon and it was really cheap. It's just some eyelash stuff and foundation"
Me:"Um.....I don't know"
Mom:"Well, I didn't know if you wanted to wear make up to the workshop"
Me:Silence(Trying to figure what the hell is going on)
Mom: It's okay if you don't want it. I'll use it if you don't"

It's not that I'm against wearing makeup. I just personally have never tried any and don't really know what to do with it, you know? But I have been considering the idea of trying some....I don't know. It's just weird, like, for Christmas some of the things I got from them was this Pumice Scrub and body lotion. So, it's all a bit odd. Does my mom think I need to grow out of this Tomboyishness that I've been my whole life? Does she want me to prissy up and find myself a nice guy? I don't know. I want to clean up my look a bit anyways. Buy some new clothes, get a hair cut and such........but I also want to meet a nice girl and I'm pretty sure that's not in my mom's plans:)

My mom got random makeup

My mom got random makeup samples that I use to disguise really really bad pimples on bad days, but that's about as much makeup as I use, and only because it's free.

More irritating, however, is that she refuses to buy guys' clothing for me now...she used to before she found out i was gay. -.-

Yeah, that's a good use for

Yeah, that's a good use for make up.

That sucks that your mom won't buy you boys clothing now:(

Go hence, to have more talk of these sad things. Some shall be pardoned, some punished. Never was a story of more regret than this of Juliet and her fair Juliet.

I don't know, it just seems

I don't know, it just seems to me like she wanted to get you a treat or something and since that's the kind of thing she'd like, she figured you might like it too... I don't think it sounds like she's trying to prissy you up. Shame it was foundation, though, and not something wild like purple lipstick...

; )

No. She knows I don't wear

No. She knows I don't wear make up and never have. I think she...idk I guess she just thought I might want to try wearing makeup since I'm getting older.

Lol. Yeah, purple lipstick would of been awesome, ha ha:)

Ha, my mom always used to

Ha, my mom always used to complain about how her mom always wanted her to wear makeup. My mom isn't exactly the most feminine person. She hates dressing up.

I dunno, she might be trying to drop a hint. Sometimes parents are like that. But she might just be trying to make a nice gesture too, or both.

Either way, it's free makeup and if you want to try there's the perfect chance to, and if not, then it doesn't sound like your mom would be too surprised.

I wear makeup, but only

I wear makeup, but only eyeliner because I like the way it accents my eyes. I don't like to dress up, and I don't consider wearing eyeliner dressing up but thats just me.

My sister had been bugging me for years to wear makeup and it was only this year that I decided to try it. Like Riku said, if you want to try it, even if only once, its free, and if not, you have the right to decide not to. :)

~I guess I kinda like you~
