To straight people who condemn homosexuality, please note the following passages from the bible:

If it is discovered that a bride is not a virgin, the Bible demands that she be executed by stoning immediately.

If a married person has sex with someone else’s husband or wife, the Bible commands that both adulterers be stoned to death.

MARK 10:1-12
Divorce is strictly forbidden in both Testaments, as is remarriage of anyone who has been divorced.

The Bible forbids a married couple from having sexual intercourse during a woman’s period. If they disobey, both shall be executed.

MARK 12:18-27
If a man dies childless, his widow is ordered by biblical law to have intercourse with each of his brothers in turn until she bears her deceased husband a male heir.

If a man gets into a fight with another man and his wife seeks to rescue her husband by grabbing the enemy’s genitals, her hand shall be cut off.

The bible's full of em.

It also mentions you can sell your daughter into slavery, among many other ones. OH! And here's my favorite, you will be stoned to death if you wear clothes of more than 2 kinds of thread.

If you're going through hell, keep going. ~Winston Churchill

The Bible...

is SUCH BS. There are so many things that are, now at least, really ridiculous. Like all of the examples you and swimmerguy posted. I mean, maybe at one point all those years ago these things were applicable or....normal. But now the world has changed, for better or for worse, and so the laws and rules need to change as well.

BTW, I love the one about people not having sex during a woman's period. What is that all about? I mean really??? Also it reminds me of a funny Mad TV skit. lol.

Better understanding of the Bible's wording.

That's why it is important to check it out for yourself by learning how to translate the words, as they were translated many times over from the Hebrew, Greek, Aramic, Latin and finally into English. A Strong's concordance can help with that. My pastor has always said not to merely take his word for it, but to check it out for yourself. Many translations are not what they appear to be and far too many "Christians" have merely believed some bible thumper and continue to spread wrong information.
