Regarding My First Journal Entry

Classes are going great. I was more bright-eyed and alert in class this morning than I have been in any 9 AM class ever. For the first time since the beginning of ninth-grade I am more than pleased with my academic surroundings. If I may, I would like to explain the sentiment behind recent comments I have made that may have offended some of you. I do not hate trans-gendered individuals. I do however resent how the notion of “gender queer” has permeated people concept of the gay identity.

I am a big fan of Classic Rock, particularly The Doors. In middle school I was fond of wearing a t-shirt on which was pictured a bare-chested Jim Morrison. I took some flack for doing so from my peers. Nothing major, just some simple teasing. I was called gay, etc.
About a year ago, there was that tragic incident at a middle school in Oxnard C.A. shortly thereafter a group sprang up on Facebook declaring that Lawrence King had been murdered because. he was gay. Was he gay? Based on all the information about what led up to the incident, King’s sexual orientation is unclear. I would not be farfetched however to presume that was tran-sexual. A m2f.

1) If a fourteen year old male middle school student in New York State is given flack for something as minor as wearing a shirt featuring the singer from his favorite 60’s rock band. Is it really that difficult to foresee a fourteen year old male middle school student in CA being picked on for cross dressing?

ummm...

i'm going to say my piece, and then i'm done.

i am physically a woman. i identify as "queer" because i don't think sexuality is something you can label like a soup can. my perception of gender is fluid. my perception of my sexual orientation is fluid. one day i might find a man sexually attractive, the next day a woman. what's between your legs has little bearing on your version of yourself. i like to dress in men's clothing, but that doesn't mean i want to be a man. lawrence king liked to dress up in women's clothing, but that doesn't make him transgender. the majority of cross-dressers are actually straight. what about drag queens or kings? are they actually, secretly transgender people? your approach to this culture is sadly uninformed...

yes, however....

So why was Lawrence King a gay martyr?

did you not read anything i

did you not read anything i wrote? I wasn't implying that he was straight or some nonsense, i was in fact saying that he was gay and he liked to wear girl's clothes. THAT'S why he's a "gay martyr". he was shot for being "different" i.e. gay.

from the wikipedia article about him:

"By the third grade, King began to be bullied by his fellow students due to his effeminacy and openness about being gay, having come out at ten years old."

I am "gender-queer"

Because I don't feel like I'm a male or female.

If you've got a problem with that, tough titties, boyo.

There's nothing you can do about it, because I don't care if you dislike it. That's the way I am. You're gay, I'm gay, you're a male, I'm a GQ.

I don't need you to spew other people's articles at me.

About cross dressing boy being murdered...

Oh, by the way, there's a difference between being called "gay" and teased and being MURDERED. You sick little fuck. You do you make that jump to it not being surprising?

A brief improvement on my last post:

You got "Nothing major, just some simple teasing."

He got: Shot.

Reactionary, Much??

Middle School is a rough place, people are jerks..... What Happened to Lawrence King was awful....

I'm not saying that King or anyone for that matter should have foreseen the murder. What I am saying is, there is a time and place for one to express themselves freely without social repurcussions. Unfortunately. that time is NOT while one is in Middleschool....

Um...I came out. In middle

Um...I came out. In middle school. And I have NEVER been teased, harrassed, shot at or beaten. Are you saying that there IS a proper time and place to express yourself and if one doesn't time things correctly they disserve what they get? There are some children coming out in ELEMENTARY school. Being LBGTQ, Trans, or gender queer isn't something to be hidden. It is people like you that make being different a crime.
