Biscuits

Ohman, so many! I found a recipe for vegan biscuits... It made 16... I could only eat 3. They were good, but they were also biscuits, you just can't 16 of those.

I started my dreads yesterday. (DREADLOCKS. WOOO! I'm really excited about this.) So I sort of have newbie dreads now. It'll be interesting keeping them from falling out until they tighten up/ my hair gets longer. Because my hair is pretty freaking short. But eh, this is also my hair and it's far more prone to tangling than detangling so I'm just going to go with the flow and see how this goes. :)

I love it so far though. I've always hated my hair because I'm just not an afro guy but unless I put tons of chemicals or weird things in my hair or cut it mad short that was pretty much my only option. (My hair doesn't grow longer, it grows out. In all directions.) And then I was like "wait, I can dread my hair" but it's taken me this long because I kept burning (with a flat iron) and cutting it for a while. So whatever.

Yeah. I didn't really have anything important to say.. At all.

It's really boring here because a new semester started and all of my teachers are "starting out slowly" so I don't have any homework to avoid. Weekends are much more interesting when I'm avoiding homework. :P

Okay so... I do need money for my photo class's lab fee but that's not really homework.

Also, I've decided upon getting a DSLR as soon as I have the money (which will be soon). I'm disappointed because the awesome camera store downtown apparently closed on New Years eve. ;^; But I can still get a camera, just not at my favorite camera store.

So I'm going to go take a shower and then go paint stuff. Later.

Biscuits are one of the things I don't like to cook

The dough is so thick. I like thinner dough.

What do you mean by

What do you mean by "biscuit"? Like a sticky bun? Or a dinner roll? Or biscotti? Or what?

Cause my mother and I make freaking amazing sticky buns. Y'see, we can't do it on our own, cause she isn't the greatest with breads, and I'm not very good with the sticky part. So I just pump out the dough, and she flavorizes and stickyizes it.

Like buttermilk biscuits.

Like buttermilk biscuits. You know, the boring dry kind that you eat with dinner. :P I wasn't aware that there was so much variety.

My mom used to make bread (and cookies) all of the time, when we first moved to NH. I kind of miss that. She doesn't bake much anymore.

Heh.

My dad might be mad when he gets back. He didn't want me to dread my hair until after I got my licence... Which is stupid because if I'm going to have dreads I ought to have them on my licence picture because then I'll actually look like my licence picture. (I'm already going to have enough trouble getting people to believe that I'm 18. I don't need my licence picture to look too different too.) =P

And yeah, my hair is probably perfect for dreading. It's terrible for everything else, but it's incredibly good at getting tangled. So it works. XD

Ew, no wax. Something about

Ew, no wax. Something about putting wax in my hair doesn't sit right with me.

So yeah, just locking it. My hair is just shy of 3 inches long so I'm not sure if it's even completely possible, but so far so good. :P

is that a vegan thing or

is that a vegan thing or just an eccentricity? either way it doesn't matter, since all the wax does is keep it from getting frizzy. but yeah, go for it!

It's an eccentricity I

It's an eccentricity I suppose. What bugs me is that wax is water resistant by nature. I'm not putting something water resistant like that in my hair. That just doesn't sit well with me and there are ways to take care of frizz that -do- wash out. :P
