Apparently with the start of Feburary so comes the talk of Valentines day.
And you know, it wouldn't be so bad if it -ended- with Valentines day, but it seems like everyone gets together in the spring. Valentines day is just the start.
It also reminds me that prom is coming up, slowly but surely. It's a pain in the freaking ass to get the school to let someone from outside the district come to prom but the only people I'd take, even in a platonic fashion, are all, guess what? From outside the district (as well as the state in most cases.) Fun stuff. :P
I'm -not- taking a girl though, I want to bring a date or a guy friend. I'm getting so sick of girls right now. Ahaha. My Photography II class is -all- girls, (except for me obviously.) and they're all pretty feminine and I'm -so- sick of hearing about diets and twitlight and "The biggest loser" already. UGHHHH. As much as I love love LOVE photography and the kinds of assignments we're doing in class, the lack of testosterone in that room (or maybe it's the overpowering presence of estrogen? ) Is going to make me mad as a freaking hatter by the time the semester ends.
Oh and speaking of the girls in my Photo class, if I hear one more "I'm getting fat" or "I need to lose weight" I'm going to lecture their asses off about body image. (Trust me, if anyone knows about body image issues, it's me.) they're all beautiful people and they're all so worried about a pound here or a calorie there and it's just so ridiculous and I wish they'd see themselves the way -I- see them because then they wouldn't be so worried because they'd all think that they were gorgeous.
I was asked today, in Mythology class what my favorite part of nature was... I couldn't answer because, I love ALL of it. From microbiology to astrophysics all the way down to the quantum level and back again. I'm an artist and a scientist, I see structure and beauty in everything in the natural world, so how am I supposed to pick just one thing? And if I just say "the entire universe" people think I mean "space" but I don't. I mean -the entirety of the freaking universe-. Which I mean, is an awful lot of space but I also speak of the specks of dirt in between and the things holding those specks of dirt together and the machines that sometimes manifest themselves upon those specks of dirt.
It's all completely fascinating and beautiful and mind-boggling you know? There's so much about our -own- speck of dirt, and the machines on it, that we don't know. It's incredible. And there's so much out there that we've never even glanced upon and never will.
So yeah. That's why I couldn't answer what my favorite part of nature was. Ahaha.
I'm done ranting for now. I'm going to go listen to music or play music or make food or do my homework or something.
