More people have been slaughtered in the name of religion than for any other single reason. That, my friends, that is true perversion.

Sounds like they learned the right things to say from their religion, right down to it not making any sense. I support the sinner, but hate the sin, etc.

I would bail on them, but tell them why. That their conditional support is basically not worth the aggravation it will cause you, and that friends don't put up walls, boundaries, rules and restrictions up for their friends. The price of admission is just too steep for the amount of reward their conditional friendship brings in.

However They "Dress it Up"...

Their belief in a particular mythology requires them to speak in this manner... Sad!

Their mythology has convinced them that they know all that is worth knowing... they've become unassailable experts :( Discussion of "facts" is futile. Again, sad!

My advice: don't discard them; let them remain acquaintances. But seek friendship and companions from those who acknowledge that learning is a never-ending process.

You can't both love an individual and despise him at the same time: It just doesn't compute.
