So yeah, I guess I didn't mention I was going to Canada in my last brief spurt of being here. But I did, and we went backpacking for the 4th time this year, and it was great.
And, now for my second school year on Oasis. It promises to be the hardest yet for me. Between 3 swim practices, a full hour of dryland, plus any other dryland or jogging I do at home, soccer practice, piano lessons and practicing, time in school and homework from my 3 honors classes, it won't be easy.
But I'm excited.
When I was in first grade, I thought I was overworked then. I had 6 whole hours of school a day, and I loved Mondays because I had nothing after school. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I had soccer practice. On Friday, I had piano lessons. On Wednesday, I had Cub Scouts.
I still do soccer practice and piano lessons, although I'm not sure I'll do soccer next year, because it interferes with swimming.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the piano, and it takes away much more stress than it contributes.
Cub Scouts turned into Boy Scouts, which I then quit after a few years. I didn't like the program, and that was besides the homophobia. One kid in our troop was kicked out for being gay and another for having a lesbian mother. I decided to leave before they made me.
And now, I have swimming, and much harder school work, and I probably feel just as overworked.
Over life our responsibilities increase, hopefully at the same pace as our ability to handle them follows suit.
One thing is certain though, I'll need to get more sleep. No more staying up till midnight.
I'll have very little leisure during the day, I guess. But I'll have more time than ever on Oasis now, in the maybe hour before bed I won't have anything happening.
Well, it's good to be back. I love you all.
