Gay PDA Experiment

ShowMeLove's picture

This is from the TV show "What Would You Do?" and in this segment they set up hidden cameras and had real life gay and lesbian couples kiss and hold hands, ect., in public to see how the general public would react.

I watched it tonight, like I always do, and was nicely surprised with a gay segment. Some of it was nice, some of it got my head shaking. Anyways, thought you guys would find it interesting.

What do you think?

My thoughts...

Why the fuck are you calling 911 to report two people kissing?!

Also, that girl who said she didn't want to see the same sex kissing, OMG she was so cute, but so close-minded. I wonder what she'd think if she knew I thought she was hawt. ;) Haha.

I don't understand what she

I don't understand what she was expecting the police to do. :I That's so crazy.

It didn't surprise me at all though. It still disgusted me that people were like "I think they're going to go to hell for being gay" but it wasn't a surprise.

This is a pretty old clip, a few years. Honestly, at the rate things are changing, once something is two years old on this topic, it is more of a time capsule than anything relevant.

I mean, sure, old people are the most anti-gay, but they're also the ones dying quickest, so... tick-tock.

I honestly had no idea how

I honestly had no idea how old it was. I just caught a rerun of it on TV the other day and I thought it was interesting so I posted it.

Still, it's relevant. Two girls where I live now got kicked out of a restaurant for kissing, just a few months ago. It's still around. OH NOES gay people kissing!!!! People are so stupid. And this is an area with a pride celebration every year. :/

It's interesting/ heartening

It's interesting/ heartening that the general theme of the clip turns to "America is becoming more accepting" because it's right main stream culture has been invaded. I was at camp the other day and one of my friends had a copy of Seventeen (not something I ever read) and she showed me an article about a girl firguring out she's bi and coming out. So I turned to my ex-girlfriend (who was also one of my roommates TALK ABOUT AWKWARD) and said "We're winning. Look. Prop 8 is gone, at least for now, and we've invaded mainstream culture!" She says "also you came out to our unit [unit=group of people your age and gender with which you spend pretty much all of your time] last night and they were great about and now they aren't pestering you about whether or not you find my brother attractive....which was really awkwardly funny."
We're winning!
But it'll probably be a long time before we've won.
I mean, police calls? how many people saying I'm going to hell? give me a break. What do you care where I spend eternity? grrrr
I would rant more but I'm in too much of a good mood.
