ok, has anyone here heard of a site called 'the hex files'? if not, i pity you! it's great! i just spent like 3 3/4 hours on it reading hp/dm fanfics, and loving them! they are one of the better sites i've visited and i am now addicted to them.

i'm also addicted to the manga called inuyasha... yeah, if my friends ever find out about this, i'm not going to live it down....cuz i kept busting their chops about them going on&on&on&on about it and now i do the same thing....

i'm falling in love with Thomas Andrew Felton as well as Daniel Jacob Radcliffe... they are really quite good actors but that's beside the point for me...they are also quite attractive (read as: so damn hawt!)....

ok, i'm rambling now, so i'll close this with a last bit of wisdom: Dumbledore said to everyone about danger: "Draco dormiens nunquam titillandus" and Harry said to everyone about Draco: "Volo hostem possum concumbere cum donec deficiam"

(ps, if you want a translation, ask....)

Translation, Please! I only took about a quarter year of Latin, and that was in 5th grade.

ok...it's classical latin for.....

"never tickle a sleeping dragon"~ A.Dumbledore about the world
and " i want to have sex with the enemy until the day of my death" ~Harry P. about Draco M.

(ps, these are just rough translations....not literal)

"to live a day alone, only THAT would be torture! An hour without you, only THAT would be death!" ~gomez and morticia addams
"look at him! i would kill for him! i would die for him! either way what bliss!"~gomez addams

Fanfic! Squeee!

Ahh yes! Harry Potter fanfic is the best :D I can't really get into hp/dm much because I can't find any canon for it and that makes it somewhat unbelievable for me but they'd make a very cute couple, no doubt about that. Personally, my OTP is Remus/Sirius, if you like them at all I really suggest you read The Shoebox Project, it was extraordinarily well written

Agreed. Although the Shoebox

Agreed. Although the Shoebox Project did have a tremendous number of factual errors, they can easily be ignored because of the brilliance of the portrayal of the Marauders, especially Remus and Sirius, whom I will never read in quite the same way in the books again. Draco was certainly obsessed with Harry, and my belief is that he either had passionate feelings for him or for Hermione, but I find the idea of Harry returning any sort of interest, or the two of them getting together, completely implausible. Ah well. We can still like them both.

I did actually quite like

I did actually quite like Draco, especially after the 6th book, where I felt like we really saw the other, more emotional side of him for the first time. Prior to that he had sort of been portrayed as a two dimensonal character, just another rival. I must be forgetting bits and peices of the Shoebox Project, because I can't recall any blatant factual errors, can you point them out to me? I'd like to be able to compare HP canon with it. The characterizations really were the best part of the book I think, because it allowed for so much witty dialouge, and because they treated Peter fairly. In so many fanfics he's hardly there or a complete butt-trumpet, and I liked that he was a real character in SBP. I had always liked Remus and Sirius as characters since Prisoner of Azkaban, but the Shoebox Project made them even more my favourites.

Oh, the errors are mostly to

Oh, the errors are mostly to do with the idea of all these people being at Hogwarts at the same time. The timeline gets all messed up. The writers weren't careful about noticing that Lily and James were very young, only nineteen, I think, when they had Harry, so all these other adult characters from the series would have graduated long before them. The most extreme example of this is Ted Tonks - if I remember aright, he was mentioned in the Shoebox Project as being younger than the Marauders, meaning that he would not possibly have been old enough to beget Nymphadora in time for her to be several years older than Harry and his gang. And other details like that: a mention of Divination class when it is mentioned in Half-Blood Prince that Divination had not been taught at Dumbledore's Hogwarts until the year of Harry's birth, the Prewetts being brothers to someone named Alice (future wife of Frank Longbottom?) rather than to Molly (future wife of Arthur Weasley), James turning sixteen midway through his sixth year, et cetera et cetera et cetera. Admittedly, the entire fanfiction was written before the release of Deathly Hallows, so not all information was available, but even so. The errors abound. But, as I say, the brilliance far outweighs them.

I agree about Draco, especially about his becoming more of a character and less of a foil, and therefore better. In the first few books he was pretty much just a nuisance, still an okay character, but vastly improved once he began doing something other than just trying to sabotage Harry. He's still a foil, though. Malfoil. Bad pun. I shouldn't have done that. Shutting up now...
