Th flute is beautiful in this. I know im still going on about harry potter but i thought this piece of music in its own right was lovely.

Agreed,

That certainly IS a beautiful flute solo.
Something I've always loved about the Harry Potter movies is the fantastic musical literature. We've had to play a bit in school and I mean, it's not the real pieces I'm sure, but it's just so memorable and strong.

John Williams is just an AWESOME composer. I watched this special showing how they created the theme for the Irish quidditch team, and they recorded like fifty instruments playing it, and then had them play it again and doubled the sound. No vibrato. It was awesome. That's why if I grow up to be a performing musician, I'd always want to do effect pieces for movies or games. They're just so influential and memorable.

yeah i agree he is a great composer. I think though i sometimes forget how much the music in a movie is so vital in the scene and you have to look deeper to find it but its worth it. Also below in the link i love this piece, which was featured at the start of HP 7 part 1, the bit where hermione clears her parents memory's

It's beautiful...

...and quite haunting. I kept wondering if the effect might be even greater if an oboe had been chosen...

NEVER!

:P
Oboes can be so strong. I like the flute better because it's airy and breathy, to be honest XP
