MICA continues to be a lot of fun, a lot of work, not much sleep and way too hot. I went to a thrift shop of sorts yesterday called The Book Thing, where they have rooms and rooms of used books, and they're all free! I got a box full, 16 in total, I think. I felt like such a gutton, but they were all so beautiful I couldn't choose.
Something else interesting happened today though. I came out to my roomates and group of friends here. The response I got was "That was so nonchalant." albeit prefaced by a second of awkward staring/silence. I'm glad it's not a big deal though, since it is art school and most everyone is pretty open. I had been debating whether or not to tell anyone here, since it's not exactly relevent information, but the chance presented itself so I decided to go for it. The whole situation leading up to it was not so great--my roomate's guy friend got kicked out of his house for being gay and was trying to find somewhere to stay, but it lead into this whole conversation about the amount of gay people at pre-college and their thoughts about it and their family's thoughts about it. They're all quite liberal although one of my new friends joked that his parents had told him it was fine if he turned out to be gay, so long as he didn't turn Democrat. And apparently my roomate's friend found a place to stay.
I'm not so sure I made the right decision to tell them, just because I'm worried it will change our dynamic, but it's good to be open I guess.
In other news, there are so many mesquitoes here today, and I now somehow have a bite in the shape of the Silence. (yeah, another doctor stalker reference, sorry guys)
I'm thinking of dying and cutting my hair this weekend when I get back from the day trip we're taking to Washington, DC. I want to get it like this and since there are so many girls here that have short hair, I'm thinking I'll get one of the RAs to cut it for me.
