I'm a proghead. I listen to Metropolis Pt.2: Scenes From a Memory by Dream Theater every day. Prog is something that I love. I got Metropolis Pt1: Images and Words, too, and I'm now listening to Deflowered by Pansy Division, which is making me crack up. "Look what I found in your groovy underwear, groovy underwear. Ooh, ooh!"
I made a song, sort of a blend of noise and electrobeat. It's sloppy as fuck, though, so it's going to need a lot of work and I probably won't get around to uploading it for a while after I finish it.
I think it's going well with Brad. Someone else suggested that Brad could just be confused and tries to get closer to me, but backs out, which would explain a lot. It seems like that could be as possible as Rainbow's theories. It also seems like he acts different around me. He was mad at his friend for looking through his backpack, but his mood completely changed when I said something to him.
The brain is an absolutely amazing organ. Just fascinating. It should be considered a mini system because it has mini-organ things inside of it. They're made up of neuclei, groups of neurons (brain cells) that work together to perform a role in the mini-organ.
Here is a diagram of a certain type of neuron:
The big, round part of the cell is the cell body, which works like regular body cells except it doesn't move. The branches coming off of it are dendrites, which allow the cell to communicate with other cells. The long thing coming off of the cell is the axon, which is covered by the myelin sheath, which protects it.
Not even a couple thousand neurons form a neucleus that is vital to proper brain function. A brain tumor must be horrible.
I just noticed how big of an impact October 16, 2012 had on my life. That was the day I joined this web site, the day I became completely sure of my sexual orientation (even though I had really accepted myself as gay a few weeks earlier and I've known I'm gay for years inside), the day I came out to my friend, and the day I noticed a small crush developing on Brad (in that order). That day changed my life.
Also, I forgot about gray and white matter. Gray matter in the brain is the areas with a large concentration of neurons, while white matter doesn't have as many.
