Guess what I've been doing.

Reading Life of Pi.
Guess how good it is.
I don't know yet because I've only had it for about a day, and I'm only on page 50-something.

It is written very well, though, and it's very entertaining to read so far. Once I start, it's hard to even look away from the book, so I guess that's a good sign about it.

I've also been writing another rabbit story, but you probably know about that if you've read the comments for elph's journal entry from a few days ago.

In other news, I'm really getting into the album LSD & Remixes. It is probably the only album in existence that has techno, jazz, and breakcore songs together. Video related. It's the Jimi Tenor remix of "Funky Solution" by Osamu Sato.

And here's my favorite remix on the album (the μ-Ziq remix of Long Tall Eyelash):

(YouTube no longer has the old embed code, Jeff.)

So that's how exciting my life is.

I also realized recently that I so not talk to girls at all. Literally, my communication with females of my age is absolutely non-existent, unless I have to for school-work. Isn't that weird? I wonder why that is. Maybe it's because I avoid strangers, and I don't know any girls well.

Hmm...

I liked that book, but it's been years since I read it. I intended to reread it before the movie came out, but too late now.

I talked to girls today outside of the hotel where One Direction is staying, asking if Harry was due to come out soon. Does that count? ;-)

Oh my god, you're so gay.

Only faggots like One Direction.

elph's picture

Yeah... a little young, maybe...

...only 18! But great taste... :)

jeff's picture

Hmm....

You're insecure. Don't know what for...

Isn't that state...

almost the norm for many LGBT teens? Regrettable, admittedly...

jeff's picture

You'll be happy to know....

I AM SEEING ONE DIRECTION TONIGHT!!!!! Just got a ticket. I am sadly on Niall's side of the stage and not Harry's, but I will scream loud enough for Harry to hear me... ;-)

Oh, also playing tonight are: B.o.B, Cher Lloyd, Ed Sheeran, fun., Jason Mraz, Justin Bieber, Ne-Yo, Olly Murs, Taylor Swift, and The Wanted.

I'm confident that anarchist...

is ecstatic for you! Don't you suppose? :)

Harry's eye candy... but you mustn't touch. However... a cap (or substitute) might prove handy!

jeff's picture

Huh?

Harry's 18, perfectly legal.

anarchist will be pleased with all this 1D chat on his journal.

I actually am sort of jealous of you.

That's the perfect opportunity to assassinate half the bad pop musicians I have to listen to because of the horrible media. I want to see Aphex Twin back on MTV. Those days must have been wonderful.

Have fun with your malicious ear cancer. I'll stick to my IDM, breakcore, and percussive clubstep.

I saw the movie a week ago,

I saw the movie a week ago, and it wasn't that great. I mean, the visuals were stunning, but the story was all about putting your faith in God and blah blah blah religion blah blah God works in mysterious ways blah blah. So I didn't really like it.

This "warning" is sufficient for me!

Thanks.

To be fair...

If you know going in that the story is largely about a boy trapped on a boat with a tiger, just trying to survive, to not think it would be a story about spirituality and introspection, etc., seems off. What else could it be?

That's similar to being annoyed that there were guns in the James Bond movie, no?

You aren't examining the story deeply enough.

That's just bullshit added to the story. The actual animals symbolize something completely different.
In the book, though, he does keep insulting agnostics and basically saying "If you don't believe in God, fuck you."
Oh, and he for some reason says he's fine with atheists, but he hates agnostics.

jeff's picture

That's common...

... and makes sense. Agnostics are atheists who don't like the word atheist, and the word agnostic is sort of contradictory. I'll let Penn explain:

Interesting,

Agnostics simply don't know what to believe, you would think he would hate on the atheists. Oh well.
Jeff, are going to that show for the music or the 'just barely legals'?

jeff's picture

Well...

The agnostics are the bisexuals in this debate, getting side-eye from the religious and the atheists.

Music mainly, seemed like a good sampler platter of a lot of stuff.
