My favorite record store just dedicated an entire section of the shelf to stoner metal, so I'm really getting into that. I've just been listening to just nonstop stoner metal for the last week, and I have a good amount of it, including Bong's entire discography, which is quite hard to find for free. I also got Black Masses by Electric Wizard and Windhand's self-titled LP on vinyl, both of which sound really nice, and feel great whenever I'm in my meditative state. The vocal frequency ranges, delays, and volumes are absolutely perfect, along with the bass-heavy, slow as fuck riffs. It all feels so amazing compared to other genres I've tried, even reggae and dubstep.
Ii would be interesting to experience how this sort of meditation-esque state compares to a cannabinoid high, which the music was designed for. From what I've heard, the effects seem almost identical, but I don't have the same mind alterations. It seems like a cannabinoid high would feel very similar, except it wouldn't require the vast amount of focus it takes to maintain the high I'm familiar with. Maybe my state is somehow linked to the same sensors in the brain. Regardless, I'd still like to try for myself. It would be difficult letting my parents hang out with my pothead friends, so feedback on this idea would be greatly appreciated.
Possibly a related idea, I have been considering forming a doom metal band, since I've been writing and recording some riffs that I'll need a drummer for. And the only drummer I know is someone I get along with very well, and I know he has cannabis connections. So there's something. I also have a friend who used to have a grow room, and apparently does a lot of acid, too. That'll be difficult to do for the same reason as stated before; the potential band members all do drugs, which is pretty difficult to lie about, the way they look and act.
Sorry for being off-topic again! Please forgive me! I just haven't been very interested in sexuality at all, and I've stopped defining myself under an orientation after I realized it would just be celebration of a materialistic, discriminatory label that generalizes an entire person's sexual desires and actions.
