Do Not Mistake My Friendliness for Foolishness

Dear That Guy,
you're a pretty cool dude in a few ways. Sure you might be a little socially awkward sometimes and you look at me as if I'm judging you for it. I'm not man, I've been there, sometimes we just never had the time for social skills. But you've been improving, I'm glad. Though that's not really what this is about at all.

This is about you asking me on two occasions to engage in cheating. I won't cheat on my studies. I just brush that off whenever you ask me those things. Just last week you asked if you could copy some of my lab results. Like Hell I was about to give them to you! I was very satisfied when I closed the Terminal.

I just closed the Terminal screen and all the results with it were gone forever. For me this isn't a big deal, I have time to do it all again only for myself and no one else. I saw you stare for a second in disbelief, then you turned away. I told you that you could just do it at home on your own computer and it wouldn't even take much effort to get the results yourself.

You didn't say anything about it to me after. And I hope you don't ask me again. I might be a friendly guy, but don't mistake my friendliness for foolishness. I'll be your friend though, and I'll guide you to the right path (not religiously). I will guide you to the path of honesty and humility. You'll find how much your life could change for the better.

I find that when we open ourselves up to the magic of friendship things can get better. Yeah, I couldn't avoid putting that in haha. Anyway dude I want you to know I'm here for ya, but I'm not doormat to wipe your shit on either.

Well gee, man

If I had only known you'd felt that way! I'm so sorry. ;)

You're not that guy, totally different person.

I applaud your decision not to allow that person to copy off of your work.
They are cheating themselves whether they realize that truth or not. Back in my school days, if I didn't study or fucked off instead, I would simply rely on my memory. I always took good notes and that bailed me out more than once. If I failed, I failed. I would just give a better effort the next time.

Would you sleep with a married man, though, or are you against all forms of cheating?! ;-)

I've never even come close to having to make that decision just yet. But I would probably say no, especially if I knew beforehand. The whole sneaking around thing doesn't appeal to me.

Honestly I don't often worry about cheating, at least in high school so far. If they don't want to learn, why make them learn? Their laziness will be its own punishment, they won't do well on a test, etc.
And if they do do well on a test, why should I force them to do the homework then? They obviously don't need it.

In college though, I don't understand why you would cheat, especially on assignments. Like, you pay to be there, in theory you want to learn, unless you're one of the most-of-people who go to college simply because they have nothing better to do and want an easier life in the future.
