March 2000

Well, this month is pretty short. I don't have a lot to say, and I don't have a coming out story to tell yet either. Hopefully next month I will have one. You will see why if you keep reading. Well, that's about it for my introduction. Keep all those e-mails coming!

Common Ground

So, did anyone get to watch Common Ground on Showtime? I did, actually twice. Did anyone else feel so bad for JTT in the shower scene? I felt like I was watching what could have happen to me after a swim practice one day. Even though JTT is supposedly not gay, it was nice to see him playing a gay character. I can dream can't I?? hehe It was also sad to see how the girl from the army was treated before and then after she was outed. It just goes to show you how screwed up society is. The gay marriage was kind of funny. The way all the supposed religious rednecks were acting. All in all I thought it was pretty good. I actually cried some after watching it. I guess just thinking about how much pain we all go through in life kind of bubbled up some emotions.

After watching it, and drying my eyes, I actually sat down with my laptop and started to write a coming out letter to my parents. I felt like I had to get those thoughts I was having on paper. I have not given the letter to them. (at least not as I type this) But maybe by the time you read this I will have, I better have! Twice while I was writing it I was interrupted by them. Little did they know what I was actually doing on the computer! I have been getting a lot of support from people from all over, and it has really helped me through all this. Just to know that there are people out there just like me facing the same problems. Thanks to all of you! And if anyone else out there needs help or would like to talk, please e-mail me, I promise to write back!

See ya'
