G&L Connection <www.glconnection.com>, the communications provider for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, recently announced that it has reached a unique and landmark agreement with Earthlink. This partnership will allow G&L Connection to provide quality internet service through Earthlink to their subscribers, while allocating a portion of their profits to benefit charitable LGBT organizations.
Subscribing to Earthlink through G&L Connection provides all the benefits of Earthlink service, with the added value of knowing that their choice of Internet Service will directly benefit causes deemed of importance to the LGBT community. As a bonus for signing up, new subscribers to G&L Connection will receive a free month of Earthlink service.
"At a time when many people in the gay community are questioning their allegiance to communications companies that may not have their best interests at heart," says CEO for G&L Connection Craig Newhouse, "We are pleased to provide quality internet service through a name-brand provider all the while giving back a percentage of our proceeds to the causes that really matter to the LGBT community."
G&L Connection donates 2.5% of their revenue to LGBT charities and causes. Charities slated for donations in 2001 include GLAAD (Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation), PFLAG (Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays), HRC (Human Rights Campaign), GLSEN (The Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network), and the GSBA Scholarship Fund (Gay Seattle Business Association Scholarship Fund). Charities are chosen based on subscriber input.
