Spunk rock band Extra Fancy releases CD and tour dates

L.A. spunk rock band EXTRA FANCY announce the re-release of their debut CD, "Sinnerman" May 7 on Atlantic Records.

The CD features 3 brand-new songs, all mixed by famed producer Dave Jerden (Alice In Chains/Jane's Addiction).

Extra Fancy have caused a national buzz with their potent, hard-rocking tunes, featuring openly queer singer Brian Grillo's no-holds-barred, brutally honest lyrics, and have gained a jaw-dropping reputation as one of the best live bands out there! Diversity, inclusiveness and empowerment are the cornerstones of their mantra!

Here's what been said in the press about them so far:

THE ADVOCATE
"The album is full of hot, man to man action, and the band rocks pretty damn hard to match the lyrical intensity. Grillo's charisma and ferociousness are impossible to ignore."

DETAILS
"What they're most likely to do: Headline Lollapalooza '97."

SAN FRANCISCO BAY TIMES
"Extra Fancy have created the queer-rock hybrid or balance that many have been waiting for decades to happen, and 'Sinnerman' is essential for any comprehensive collection."

L.A. TIMES
"Brian Grillo shatters those confining gay images, striking a traditionally aggressive rock stance--including gritty vocals and an imposing presence."

GENRE
"'Sinnerman' rocks with raw, man-to-man lyrics and an unapologetic, wholly queer sensibility."

EDGE MAGAZINE
"'Sinnerman' smashes and disintegrates every crumb of misunderstanding that Extra Fancy is a 'gay band', as Brian Grillo inadvertently breaks all stereotypes by merely being himself. He may well be the queer community's answer to Eddie Vedder, speaking to those who most mainstream rock musicians have chosen to omit from their conscience."
