A ground-breaking public television series starting on September 27 (Friday) at 9 p.m. (Eastern time), and an invitation to spread the word (and mark your calendars).
"WITH GOD ON OUR SIDE: The Rise of the Religious Right in America," will be broadcast on PBS stations nationwide, bringing conservative evangelicals to the small screen, speaking for themselves about the history, battles, and future of the movement, from the 1950's through the present.
The six-hour series includes interviews with Ralph Reed (Christian Coalition), Jerry Falwell, Billy James Hargis, Bill McCartney, Pat Roberton, and many other religious leaders. From the political realm, interviews are offered by former Nixon advisor Charles Colson, former Carter advisors Stuart Eizenstat and Jody Powell, former Reagan advisor Michael Deaver, former Bush advisor Leigh Ann Metzger and former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop, and many others.
Compelling archival footage, and other commentary by Phyllis Schlafly, Randall Terry, Morton Blackwell, Paul Weyrich, and Ed Dobson (Moral Majority), among others, provide a first-person view of this important cultural, political, and religious movement.
