Valentine's Day

February 14th. Anyone recognize this date? Think red, flowers, romantic dinners and love poems. You must know the holiday by now. If not here's one more clue.Think back to grade school. Do you remember the little candy hearts that had messages on them like, "hug me" and "kiss me"? Do you know now? Oh come on, you must know. It's Valentine's Day!

Personally Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays. People are always in a very good mood, the color red is terrific and don't we always love the balloons and the cute little teddy bears.

It can be a rather depressing holiday for some people though. Especially for gays and lesbians. A lot of teenagers have crushes on their friends and Valentine's Day is a day that makes your friends seem even further away.

Another fact with being gay is that it's not always safe to express yourself in front of other people. That's what Valentine's Day is for though. Gays and Lesbians have to celebrate Valentine's Day in your own house, in your own privacy.

One of my Valentine Day fantasies is to be with my girlfriend all day eating chocolates, listening to K.D. Lang, exchanging gifts and spending the evening sitting by the fire talking.

With that I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine's Day and if possible are able tospend it with the person you love.
