Top entertainers scheduled to appear at the 8th annual GLAAD Media Awards

Awards to be held in three cities: Los Angeles, Washington, DC and New York

LOS ANGELES, CA--Ellen DeGeneres, Tracey Ullman, Adam Arkin, Dr. Katz, Broadway's "Rent" and many others are scheduled to appear at the 8th Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which will take place in three ceremonies to be held in Los Angeles on March 16, in Washington, DC on March 26 and in New York on March 31.

Celebrities will present awards to recipients in the categories that include: Outstanding Film, Television Comedy Series, Television Drama Series, Television-Individual Episode, Made-for-Television Movie, Television Journalism, Print Journalism, Advertising, Comic Books, Music Single, and Theater.

Ellen DeGeneres, Tracey Ullman, Adam Arkin, Jennifer Tilly, Gina Gershon, Lisa Edelstein, Garry Marshall, Lily Tomlin, Ed McMahon, Norman Lear, Carol Channing and Ming-Na Wen are scheduled to appear at the Los Angeles Media Awards.

Expected in New York are Michael Boatman, Laura Linney, Isiah Washington, Terrance McNally, Wendy Wasserstein, David Marshall Grant and Gregory Harrison, with performances by members of the casts of "Rent" and "When Pigs Fly."

Scheduled to appear at the Washington, DC Awards ceremony are Dr. Katz, Col. Margarethe Cammermeyer, Rita Mae Brown, Suzanne Westenhoeffer, Bob Hattoy and Ray Suarez. Additional names will be announced shortly.

The GLAAD Media Awards were created in 1989 to honor individuals and projects in the media and entertainment industries for their balanced and accurate representations of lesbians and gay men and the issues that affect their lives.

The Los Angeles Awards take place on March 16 at the Century Plaza Hotel, and begin with cocktails and a Silent Auction at 5:00 PM, followed by a Dinner and Awards Presentation at 6:30 PM.
