Strong Arms

By Jarrod Lang

A lifetime of pain,
My heart searching in vain,
Endless paths leading nowhere,
A cold, fruitless field of despair.

The icy pangs of loneliness,
No hope of a loving caress,
Only the drab cloak of night,
Streaming tears as I cringe in fright.

But I can feel a cure,
Your radiant heart is pure,
Your smile shreds the cloak of pain,
Your tenderness shines through the darkest rain.
I'm safe from every kind of harm,
Life has meaning when I'm in your strong arms.
