That Which I Can Not Have...

By Jason Lyons

I wish I may,
I wish I might,
Hold you in my arms tonight.

Your lips so wet,
Your soft caress,
These thoughts and visions
Haunt me this night.

Looking now,
To breaking yonder,
Seeing naught
The eloquent light,
That shineth from your brazen soul.

Consumed by lonliness,
Smothered by the pillow
Her head resteth upon,
Tears running down my cheek,
Saddness overtaking my soul.

I shall not have you,
For you are not mine,
Nonetheless I love you.
And this love shall burn within
Till the angel of death and I do meet.
