Troy N. Diggs

January 1999

December 21, 1998

There's something really important going on in my life right now, but I can't talk about it. It's not that it's too personal, but I don't have all the facts yet, and I don't want to write about it when I'm not sure of what's going on. Maybe soon, but not right now.

The only problem with that, however, is that it leaves me with almost nothing to write about for January. I thought about writing a column on "friends who you haven't kept in touch with and really really miss because they mean a lot to you", but couldn't figure out a way to make it sound good (BTW, Kyle, if you're reading this, give me a call).... thought about going over the hell that is my love life, but I've been doing it so long that I'm even sick of reading about it. Seriously.

So, I'm stuck with a space to write in and nothing to write about. And you know, really, that sums up 1998 as a year pretty damned well for me.... in all honesty, the good things that happened this past year cancel out the bad things, and leave me at an emotional zero-balanced kind of mood. I mean, it's that blah feeling you get sometimes; you're not ecstatically happy, yet you're not quite depressed; you're just there.

In any event, it's time to put 1998 into the history books and make way for 1999.... resolutions? Nah.... I never keep them; if I did, I'd have the body of Matt Damon by now. Instead, I do want to wish all of you who read this thing on a regular basis (and shame on you if you don't) a 1999 filled with happiness, hope, love, and all those wonderful things that I hope happen in my life too. It's a new year, it's a new beginning, and a new beginning is waiting for you at Greenleaf Center. (Sorry, that was too easy... for those who live outside of Jonesboro, Greenleaf used to be the rehab hospital, and that was their slogan, and it was eerily catchy.)

eMail is great! Drop me a line @ TDiggs@aztec.astate.edu , or visit my Web page @ http://www.geocities.com/~tdiggs/... happy new year....
