I'm not sure if any of ya'll have heard it, but there's this song out now called "Everybody's Free (to Wear Sunscreen)"... it's basically a graduation speech set to music, and it's really inspirational.... the lyrics are available at http://www.wmcstations.com/fm100/ .
So, in an effort to shamelessly copy and stuff, here's my own meandering thoughts on life.
Here goes.... (ahem)
In every life, there'll be at least one person who's going to be your friend as long as you let them. Make sure that you never let them go.
You are a beautiful person, even if you can't see it, even if you don't feel it... you're beautiful.
Strip in front of an audience at least once in your life. It's a very freeing experience.
Don't be jealous. Just remember that at some point, the person you envy will be without something you have.
The person you look at in the mirror is not your enemy. Don't let him treat you like one.
Apologize when you've done something wrong. Sometimes, it's even OK to apologize when you haven't.
Don't push your loved ones away. Your loved ones are like rubber bands, and liable to snap if you push them too far.
Be polite to the people you meet, even that ugly redneck at the gas station. It'll throw him off guard.
Hop into your car and drive to a place you've never been and never planned on going just to see what's there.
Don't whine. It's unattractive.
The only person you have to justify anything for is yourself. And Judge Judy.
Love requires two people to work right. If the person you love doesn't love you back, there's a problem.
Don't take advice too seriously.
And, above all, never, never give up. (Thank you, Tom Prestigiacomo.)
