GLAAD'S CRITERIA FOR EVALUATING SUBMISSIONS:
FAIR, ACCURATE AND INCLUSIVE REPRESENTATIONS - Heavy emphasis is placed on media which reflect the diversity of the community, whether based in race, class, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, family form, professional background, physical or mental ability or political ideology. Content related to lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender people needed to be both fair and accurate.
BOLDNESS AND ORIGINALITY - The media outlet should contribute to a fuller or better understanding of issues surrounding sexual orientation and identity. Original perspectives on long-standing issues, innovation in identifying new stories and themes within our community, and breaking new ground by exploring lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender subject matter in fresh, exciting and thoughtful ways are considered.
IMPACT - The media outlet should impact its targeted audience as well as reso-nate significantly with non-community-specific media, as exemplified by trendset-ting in news and features.
OVERALL QUALITY - The overall quality of the project is taken into consid-eration.
Eligibility: Entries were published, released or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 1998.
