Online voting for GLAAD's " The 20 Best Lesbian & Gay Films of the 20th Century" is now available at http://www.glaad.org.
The project, generously sponsored by ABSOLUT and designed by Entertainment Weekly, commemorates the first 100 years of depicting lesbians, gay men, bisexuals and transgender individuals in film, as well as lesbian and gay filmmaking. Online voting is being sponsored by Mediapolis' Data Lounge site (www.datalounge.com).
Throughout the year, the community will be voting for their film favorites, picking 20 of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender films or their favorite films with significant lgbt characters from the past century in films that have screened in the U.S. or Canada. Next year, GLAAD will reveal the top 20 films.
Each voter will also be automatically entered in a drawing to win two round-trip tickets on American Airlines to any one of GLAAD's Media Awards ceremonies in 2000.
Online voting will end on January 7, 2000. "The 20 Best Lesbian & Gay Films of the 20th Century" will be unveiled by GLAAD in 2000.
