August 1999

Amazing - two columns in a row. I do believe that this is a record for me. Not a whole lot has changed since my last entry, though; my life is pretty much at a plateau right now.

I'm still struggling with my weight - a struggle that I've had a fairly interesting observation on lately. Before I moved to my current locale, I was thin and pretty (I couldn't think of a better choice of words). However, in the past three years, I've ballooned up. A classic post hoc fallacy? Or is there something more to it than that? Only time will tell - quite literally, as I'll soon be moving downstate (and hopefully there will be a lot more to do THERE than there is HERE). Maybe a change of scenery (combined with a big change in diet) will have a more positive effect.

And another thing I'm strongly hoping for in this move is to make some gay friends. ALL my friends are straight. Of course, I don't live in the most gay-friendly area. I was the only openly gay person in high school - and while that made me quite the friend to the girls, it somewhat limited my male friendships to those few I had already made. Here's to hope.

I'm looking forward to the trip I'll be taking in August to England and Ireland. It promises to be a lot of fun, considering I'll be there with a few of my friends. Unfortunately, I'll probably end up sharing a bed with the straight friend whom I'm very much in love with, so...oy.

Well, I'm sorry if I've babbled on. I'll write again next month - after my trip - and I'll tell you ALL about it. <evil grin>

Thanks to everyone who's been writing in the past month - if I haven't gotten back to you yet, I've probably deleted your mail by accident. Sorry... I'm a klutz sometimes.

Peace, love, and harmony,
