What a great collection!!!
Almost-Eagle Scout denied award because he is gay
I, for one, am quite sad at how a once-admired organization has now been taken over by radicals dispensing such a hateful position!
Here's a petition you might consider signing:
This article in Huffington Post serves as a perfect complement to the discussion provoked in response to my journal of 8 September http://www.oasisjournals.com/2012/09/posted-strictly-as-a-cautionary-tal... :
You'll have no difficulty in identifying my comment/question at end (not as elph). :)
Much good advice!
btw: I must learn how to create hyperlinks!
I wanted to scream when I read this news item this morning... but no one would have heard me. Silent tears, however, were shed:
Two very unwise decisions are reported here. I desperately hope that no Oasis member will ever find him/herself in such a vulnerable situation.
15 years old! :(
The Nature of Nicholas
This is a movie which I suspect few of you have seen.
For the past 48 hours Oasis has not been accepting log ins.
This is not your problem... but just one example of the "instability" Jeff spoke about.
There is no telling how long Oasis will be up this time... but in all likelihood there is more work to be done... so don't be surprised by further instability up through the coming weekend! By that time it may be smooth sailing!
Keep your fingers crossed.
Could we in the West produce anything similar?
BTW... all the leading roles are played by young gays (~20) in real life:
It's good to see that all of the propitious omens have conspired to revive Oasis! :)
Let's hope it remains viable...
This morning I find that all journals disappear from view after logging in. I'm writing this journal just to see if it will appear... and possibly jog the system into working properly...
It's the "logging-in" process that seems to cause the problem. If one is not "logged in" the journals appear as normal (but often with the most recently posted journal not appearing... this being a long-standing fluke).
Jeff has been notified: email and PM!
This entry will be deleted once I find the system is working properly...
Sorry...Don't know why, but the embedded video from TED that was originally in this location failed to open properly...
Consequently, the URL (which does work) is given below):
I think you'll find this to be a quite informative lecture... and, even humorous!
I would like to have been in the live audience, as LZ Granderson was very well received.
You'll not want to miss this. Barney Frank totally trashes Perkins! :)
We're all awaiting your review of Bully!
I've not seen it... and all that I've read so far tells me that if I were to attend, within minutes I'd be obliged to get up and leave with tears streaming.
I hear it's a not-to-be-missed production, but my low tolerance for witnessing the discomfort of others strongly suggests that my attendance will not be a viable likelihood... :(
Just thinking about Alex's life from just this one review, does it for me...
After you've chosen a religion, there're also some fairly nifty pics!
This is a Must See video produced for PBS Online:
This has absolutely nothing to do with teen LGBT issues...
But, Im confident that at least one Oasie is inherently curious about issues in addition to the currently-paramount one: How, oh how, can my libido be satisfied? Maybe... more than just one?
Anyway... there is an extremely thought-provoking discussion on the nature of time on today's Discovery (BBC):
