The Web Standards Project have just released a new website called BrowseHappy.com which aims to educate people to the vast security risk running internet explorer poses to most internet users (even with all the patches.). To say that a popup window can format your hard drive when you use internet explorer is an understatement. There have recently been cases of them stealing banking details aswell.
The site isn't as much anti-ie as it is pro-proper web browser (opera / safari / firefox / mozilla).
FYI: I use firefox.
This is just a short note to let everyone know that the site will be down at certain times during the next week, due to us moving to a new webserver ( in canada.. que mountie reference).
I am just moving us for now, but I will update to a new version soon enough.. within the next month, really (i promise this time). I am just waiting for the next version of the software we run on (Drupal) to mature a bit before upgrading the site. Lots of interesting things are coming our way soon. Watch this space.
I feel this is soooo apt for the closeted among us, that I am putting this on the front page. .. the front page is usually kept for original content - princess adrain, webmistress extraordinaire
Best Imitation of Myself - Ben Folds Five
I feel like a quote out of context withholding the rest,
So I can be for you what you want to see,
I got the gesture and sounds, got the timing down,
It's uncanny, yeah you think it was me
Do you think I should take a class
to lose my southern accent?
Did I make me up or make the face till it stuck?
I do the best imitation of myself
Mad World - Michael Andrews (featuring Gary Jules).
From the Donnie Darko soundtrack.
All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
And their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tommorow, no tommorow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
No, i am not crazy .... it's an indie game i found while browsing the web today : oasisgame.com
Still in love with this man's music. This is exactly how I feel about life after High School.
Song : No Such Thing
Artist: John Mayer
"Welcome to the real world", she said to me
Take a seat
Take your life
Plot it out in black and white
Well I never lived the dreams of the prom kings
And the drama queens
I'd like to think the best of me
Is still hiding
Up my sleeve
They love to tell you
Stay inside the lines
But something's better
On the other side
I have decided to resign my position at Obsidian System and focus on starting my own site hosting / drupal contracting business.
I have been involved in the Drupal project for more than a year now, and I am going to be making use of the opportunities I have seen for the last two years, and pretty much be going into doing Oasis .. full time (in a way).
I'm scared.. and excited.
By John Mayer. Apparently everyone else knew about him , but me. I'm completely hooked now though.
We got the afternoon
You got this room for two
One thing I've left to do
One mile to every inch of
Your skin like porcelain
One pair of candy lips and
Your bubblegum tongue
And if you want love
We'll make it
Swim in a deep sea
Take all your big plans
I left the house a total of two times this easter, and although I was at home alone for most of it, I really enjoyed myself (and my new internet connection at home). I played a ton of videogames, i fetched my little brother for saturday night, and we spent the entire evening playing bizarre japanese puzzle games and the like.
The only thing that could have made this weekend any better would be getting laid. Maybe I am ready for another dip into the dating pool? I don't know. It's not that I am scared or anything, it's just that I'm not sure a relationship is really what I need right now. Also, I don't know how many people would be able to give me the space I need.
I love that site.
Am I _EVER_ glad this part is finished. the big update is scary , especially with the chance that it could all break and fuck out. Anyway. i need to go home, but the good news is I am getting net access at home this week. So i shall be on a lot more than I am now.
Now comes the fun part of maintaining the site. Reading the posts, meeting new people adding neat little niggles to make you lot happy.
